Dark cherries, blood plums and red currants with a hint of violets and earthy spice. The palate is vibrant and so with silky tannins swirling around dark berries and dried herbs that slide gracefully towards a complex and beguiling finish.
The grapes were grown in the Merricks Grove vineyard on a north-south facing block planted in 1995. The Pinot clone is MV6 and vines were pruned using a mix of cane and spur pruning.
Handpicked and sorted, gently destemmed and whole berry fermented in an open vat with minimal interference to preserve the personality of the vineyard. Pressed and matured for 10 months in new and old French barriques with minimal filtration before blending and bottling.

This is wonderfully fruited and elegantly complex, showing dark plum, floral, clove and toasted nut aromas on the nose. The seductively silky palate delivers succulent fruit flavours together with fleshy texture and fine polished tannins, finishing impressively long and delectable. At its best: now to 2027.
