Fruit is sourced from the Malakoff Vineyard. Partial destemming and fermentation in open vats, 12 months' maturation in a mix of old and new barrels. Arrives in the glass almost impenetrable in dark purple/black hues. Restrained scent of violet aromatics, blueberry compote, blackberries and melted chocolate. Savoury spice, cardamom, cola and licorice. Carries the density and ripe tannins well. It's a big mouthful of flavour.

Gorgeously fruited and fragrant, the wine shows Black Doris plum, blueberry compote, violet, cedar and subtle spice notes on the nose, leading to a concentrated palate that's succulent and supple. It's pristine and flavoursome with elegant spicy nuances, finishing wonderfully long and silky. At its best: 2022 to 2034.

The shiraz from Central Victoria is some of Australia’s finest, with the Pyrenees one of the leading regions thanks to its cooler nights, which gives the local wines elegance and complexity. This example is bright deep ruby in colour showcasing its impressive fruit concentration. There are layers of ripe blackberry and mulberry fruits with regional white pepper supplemented by sweet oak. The palate is then dry and full-bodied with layers of open-knit ripe dark red and black berry fruits making for an easy drinking style to enjoy over the next five years.
