Citrus, white nectarine and oral high notes intermingle with some gingery spice and toasted cashews. The mouthfeel is poised yet concentrated with a delightful freshness and a fine chalky finish.
The grapes were grown in the Merricks Grove vineyard on a north-south facing block planted in 1995. The Chardonnay clone is P58 and vines were pruned using a mix of cane and spur pruning.
Handpicked, meticulously sorted and whole bunch pressed. Spontaneously fermented in a mix of new and old French barriques for savouriness and texture. Matured in oak for 12 months and after a rigorous selection process, only the most exquisite barrels were bottled with no fining and minimal filtration.
Sam Kim - 94 Points
Gorgeously composed and elegantly expressed, the wine shows white flesh peach, nougat, lemon peel and hazelnut aromas on the nose, followed by a finely layered palate delivering pristine fruit flavours together with discreet oak infusion, finishing wonderfully long and engaging. At its best: now to 2026.
